Cancer, kidney patients to get Rs 5,000 as livelihood allowance

KATHMANDU :

The government has decided to provide Rs 5,000 as a monthly social welfare allowance to those people suffering from grave diseases.

A meeting of the Cabinet held in Singha Durbar on Thursday decided to provide this social welfare allowances to those suffering from serious kinds of diseases such as kidney failure, cancer and spinal injury including those paralyzed, said Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet meeting has also decided to appoint Dr Pushpa Chaudhary as secretary of Ministry of Health.
