7 dead as bus plunges into Trishuli, 25 rescued alive
Seven persons were killed when a passenger bus plunged into Trishuli River in between Fisling and Chumlingtar of Chitwan district on Wednesday.
Inspector at Area Police Office, Gajuri, Sanjaya Timilsena confirmed the death of seven persons. Twenty-five others were rescued alive from the river.
Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police teams from Munglin, Jogimara and Gajuri are carrying out the rescue operation.
The bus (Lu 2 Kha 291) has completely submerged into the water. APF divers found the bus 25 feet below the water surface. Preparations are being made to pull the bus out with a crane.
Three of the rescued passengers have been rushed to Kathmandu. Thirteen others have been taken to Bharatpur for treatment.
