Nepal suffer second consecutive defeat

Nepal faced second defeat as they went down to India 106-39 in the U-16 SABA Basketball Championship here at National Sports Council covered hall today.

India dominated the game from the beginning and never looked back. India took the first period 26-12 and did not allow the home side to score freely. The visitors extended the lead by winning the second quarter 24-7. Nepal showed no sign of improvement as India won the third period 32-12 and took the final quarter 24-8.

Nepal, who defeated Bhutan in their opening match, faced defeat against Bangladesh on Thursday, while India had defeated Maldives and Bangladesh.

In another match of the day, Bangladesh defeated Maldives 107-52. Bangladesh claimed the first two quarters 36-2 and 24-10 before both the teams scored 21 points in the third period. Bangladesh won the final period 26-19.

Nepal will take on Maldives and India will play against Bhutan in the last matches of the competition on Saturday.
