KATHMANDU :

Nepal Oil Corporation Executive Director Gopal Khadka has resigned from his post on Thursday.

Organising a press meet in Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply (MoICS), Singha Durbar, Khadka said that he had submitted his resignation letter to the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply, Matrika Yadav, effective as of today.

In the meet Khadka said that he had attempted to expand the storage capacity of petroleum products with good intentions, however, he was criticised for the move from various sources, he claimed.

He stated that he decided to resign from the post after he was called to the ministry and was left without any responsibilities. He further stated that even though he was reinstated after Supreme Court issued a stay order on his dismissal by the Council of Ministers, he was denied any responsibilities.

A cabinet decision in September last year had removed Khadka from his post on charge of committing irregularities while purchasing land plots for the corporation in various areas.

Later, the Supreme Court had issued an interim order in his favour, against the government decision.
